PLEASE TAKE TIME TODAY TO REMEMBER ALL OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES FOR OUR FREEDOM AND FOR OUR COUNTY…
My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” – John F. Kennedy
“If you were looking forward to gathering with your neighbors for Memorial Day cookouts, you may do so,” Gov. Murphy said. “So long that social distancing and personal responsibility remain the order of the day.”
WE SHOULD ALSO THANK GOVERNOR MURPHY FOR ALLOWING US TO HAVE A COOKOUT IN OUR OWN BACKYARDS!
Rally Calling for N.J. to Reopen from Coronavirus Restrictions
Set for Jersey Shore town today. At least two New Jersey state legislators are expected to be among the speakers at a Jersey Shore rally Monday to call for Gov. Phil Murphy to reopen nonessential businesses that have been closed for about two months during the coronavirus pandemic. Point Pleasant Beach police issued a statement Friday saying they expected “large crowds” to attend the rally at the Silver Lake parking lot at the intersection of Arnold and Ocean Avenues, about a half block from the town’s boardwalk.
The Death of the American Constitution
Many Americans have been screaming; unconstitutional. During the past couple of weeks, Americans have seen unprecedented authoritarian behavior on the part of many governors and local government leaders, and the chilling possibility that the Obama White House intentionally weaponized the National Security Agency, FBI, CIA, IRS and other federal agencies to attack domestic political opponents. At the same time, the government and the tech community have made huge strides in expanding the surveillance state, often termed fascism. The concepts of democracy, personal privacy and property rights are rapidly becoming quaint concepts from a bygone era.
The Next Best Thing to Culinary Travel?
Recreating those restaurants at home. Though parts of the country are slowly starting to reopen, the restrictions and repercussions from the global pandemic will undoubtedly compromise our ability to take culinary-minded vacations for the foreseeable future. That doesn’t mean, though, that you can’t eat your way through some of the most beloved food destinations in the U.S. You just have to get creative at home. Chefs around the country are offering online cooking demonstrations of some of their signature foods. The best part? Most are free. Here’s how to recreate regional cuisine in your kitchen.
The Restaurant You Just Ordered Delivery From
May not actually exist. Virtual restaurants have been a part of the restaurant landscape for a long time, perhaps longer than many people realize. In fact, you may have ordered from one without knowing. Chick-fil-A has virtual restaurants that serve its primary brand. Gourmet hot dog chain Doghaus launched eight new virtual restaurant brands in April. Even McDonald’s opened one in London last December. Everyone and their mother are experimenting with virtual kitchens. Here’s why that makes sense.
Restaurant Owner Makes Money by Ordering Pizzas
From himself through DoorDash. Ranjan Roy,A former trader, revealed that he and a friend had discovered a loophole last year that had enabled them to profit by ordering from the friend’s restaurants through DoorDash. Roy’s unnamed friend contacted Roy one day in March 2019 asking if he’d heard of DoorDash. The friend had been noticing an uptick in customers calling in and complaining about the pizzas they’d had delivered. But none of his restaurants offered delivery, either in-house or through third-party platforms. The friend realized that DoorDash had created a listing for his restaurants without his consent or knowledge, and was taking delivery orders for them. The friend also noticed that DoorDash’s listing charged $16 for pizzas that cost $24 on the restaurants’ menu. This is where Roy saw an opportunity. If DoorDash charged $16 but paid $24 to the restaurant, couldn’t the restaurant make money by ordering from itself?

Civilians who died during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks are commemorated on Patriot Day (September 11). Here’s more about the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
Summer jobs dry up and teens face highest unemployment in decades. Young Americans are having little luck finding summer jobs. Coronavirus outbreaks throughout the country have dried up many of the traditional opportunities that high school and college-age students rely on each summer. Junior workers seeking seasonal employment are striking out so much that the April unemployment rate for teens aged 16 to 19 hit 32%, marking a high not seen since at least 1948, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. As more teens hit the job market in June and July, when school is generally out, that rate typically climbs higher.
